Advertising and sponsorship
Reviewed 12 October 2026. This page explains how Helian approaches commercial material while maintaining an informational editorial environment suitable for readers and responsible advertising review.
It applies to display placements, sponsorships, branded resources, newsletters if introduced and measurement connected with those activities. The policy is designed for readers in Indonesia and does not replace the terms or legal requirements that apply to a particular advertiser.
1. Clear separation
Paid placements are visually and verbally identified. Editorial pages are created independently, and an advertiser cannot require a favorable article, remove a correction or control the order of health information.
Labels should be understandable on mobile and desktop views. A sponsored resource may sit near an article, but proximity does not turn the article into an endorsement. Commercial discussions are handled by the business contact while editorial decisions remain with the editorial desk.
2. Suitable categories
We consider services and products that can be described accurately without pressure. We do not knowingly accept promotions for illegal activity, unsafe medical claims, deceptive financial schemes, tobacco products or material that exploits a health fear.
Before acceptance, Helian may request the advertiser’s legal name, landing page, operating territory and evidence supporting a claim. A category can be declined when its presentation would confuse readers or conflict with the site’s informational purpose. Acceptance is not a certification of the advertiser’s wider business.
3. Health claims
Commercial claims must be supportable, specific and consistent with applicable law. Phrases suggesting a guaranteed cure, certain transformation or universal result are not accepted. Readers should be able to distinguish an advertisement from independent education.
Copy should identify what is being offered, who provides it and any material conditions in plain language. Testimonials, before-and-after imagery and references to personal outcomes require careful substantiation and are not accepted when they create a misleading impression. Helian may request revision or remove a placement when a claim becomes inaccurate.
4. Audience data
Helian does not sell personal contact lists or provide advertisers with inferred medical categories. Campaign reporting is aggregated where possible. A sponsor receives information about placement and broad performance, not a reader’s private message or health concern.
Reports may include impressions, broad device category, page placement and aggregate interaction counts. Contact-form messages are kept separate from campaign reporting. Any service provider handling technical delivery is limited by contract and receives only the fields required for the agreed task.
5. Cookies and measurement
Optional measurement requires the choices described in our cookie policy. The cookieChoice value records a site preference for up to 12 months. Advertising technology will not be introduced without a documented review of consent, data access and user impact.
Essential delivery values may last for a session or up to 24 hours, while optional measurement settings are reviewed against their stated lifespan. If a new vendor or purpose is introduced, this page and the cookie policy will be updated before activation where required. Readers can reject optional measurement without losing access to editorial content.
6. Sponsorship labeling
A sponsored guide, newsletter or section is labeled near its title and in the page metadata where practical. Sponsorship does not allow a company to edit independent articles, purchase favorable rankings or suppress a correction.
Labels remain visible when a page is shared or printed where the format permits. A branded resource is reviewed for tone, accuracy and separation from general reporting. If a reasonable reader could misunderstand the relationship, Helian will add clearer disclosure or decline the arrangement.
7. Review, complaints and revisions
Questions about a placement can be sent to Jalan Thamrin No. 88, Menteng, Jakarta Pusat, DKI Jakarta 10310, Indonesia, or +62 21 7891 035. We normally acknowledge a complaint within 7 business days and aim to explain the review outcome within 30 calendar days.
Complaints should identify the page, advertiser, wording and concern. We may pause a placement while checking a factual or compliance issue. Revision history: 12 October 2026, policy reviewed and published. Future updates will show an effective date and a concise account of material changes.
Advertisers must provide a clear landing page, current contact information and evidence for factual statements before a placement is approved. Helian may ask for substantiation, disclaimers, age or territory limits and a description of how personal information is handled. A request can be declined when the presentation relies on fear, misleading omission, unsupported health language or pressure to act quickly.
Commercial records may include the advertiser's legal name, contact person, campaign dates, placement, approval notes and invoices. These records are generally retained for up to 24 months after the commercial relationship ends, while accounting records may be kept for the period required by applicable Indonesian tax and accounting rules. Access is limited to the people handling commercial administration, compliance, finance or technical delivery.
Measurement identifiers used for an approved placement are not combined with sensitive editorial inferences. Optional analytics or advertising storage is subject to the site's cookie choice mechanism, and a reader can reject optional values without losing access to ordinary articles. Third-party ad or measurement infrastructure may process limited technical data outside Indonesia under its own documented safeguards.
