Editorial policy

Reviewed 12 October 2026. This policy describes how Helian develops health journalism for men beyond 30 while keeping education distinct from promotion.

It applies to articles, updates, guides, images, contributor material and corrections published on Helian. The policy supports a calm editorial environment for readers in Indonesia and elsewhere, without presenting general information as personal care.

1. Editorial purpose

We publish clear, humane material about movement, nutrition, sleep, stress and connection. Our purpose is to help readers ask useful questions and recognize credible next steps, not to create fear or urgency.

Stories should explain context, limits and practical relevance. Writers avoid language that promises an outcome, pressures a reader or turns uncertainty into a sales message. Editorial decisions are based on usefulness and accuracy rather than page length or commercial potential.

2. Audience

Helian is written primarily for adults in Indonesia and readers elsewhere who value local context. Men are not a single group; our language avoids assuming a particular body, relationship, income, religion or family structure.

Examples may mention Jakarta or everyday Indonesian settings, but they should not imply that one lifestyle represents every reader. We aim for respectful descriptions of disability, age, gender, family life and access to resources. Readers may contact us when a framing feels narrow or exclusionary.

3. Evidence

Writers seek authoritative guidance, primary research where appropriate and qualified commentary. We distinguish consensus, plausible interpretation and uncertainty. A source is not treated as reliable solely because it is popular or commercially visible.

Editors check the identity, date, relevance and limitations of important sources. We prefer direct links to public institutions, journals or professional bodies when available. If evidence is mixed, the article should say so and avoid presenting a preliminary finding as settled information.

4. Review

Editors review accuracy, clarity, medical framing and potential harm. Health articles may receive practitioner review, but a reviewer’s participation does not turn the article into personal medical advice. Review dates are reconsidered when guidance changes.

Reviewers may suggest a clarification, source or safety boundary; editors retain responsibility for the published wording. A correction is made when a material error is confirmed, with the update date shown where practical. Reader reports are acknowledged within 7 business days and assessed according to significance.

5. Conflicts

Contributors disclose relevant employment, financial interests, products and relationships. Editors may decline a pitch when a conflict cannot be managed transparently. Paid partnerships are labeled and cannot purchase editorial conclusions.

Conflicts are considered before commissioning and again before publication. A sponsor may review factual details about its own service, but it does not receive control over independent analysis. Gifts, access or hospitality are recorded where they could affect reasonable reader perception.

6. Language

We avoid guaranteed outcomes, shame, exaggerated transformation and fear-based sales language. We describe what an idea may support, where evidence is limited and who should seek professional guidance before trying it.

We also avoid fabricated testimonials, unsupported rankings and phrases that create artificial urgency. Headlines should accurately summarize the article rather than conceal a limitation. Health-related wording is reviewed for clarity so a general discussion is not mistaken for a diagnosis.

7. Corrections and contact

To report an error or conflict, write to Jalan Thamrin No. 88, Menteng, Jakarta Pusat, DKI Jakarta 10310, Indonesia, or call +62 21 7891 035. Include the article title, relevant passage, source and reason for concern.

We normally acknowledge a report within 7 business days and explain the outcome within 30 calendar days where practicable. Revision history: 12 October 2026, policy reviewed and published. Future changes will carry a dated note and summary.

Editors record the source, publication date and relevant context for material claims, especially where a topic may influence personal decisions. Where evidence is limited or mixed, the wording should show that uncertainty rather than imply a settled conclusion. A source may be updated, withdrawn or superseded, so important references are checked during routine review.

Contributors disclose relevant commercial, professional or personal interests before publication. A conflict does not automatically prevent publication, but it may require a note, an independent review or a different assignment. Helian does not accept payment in exchange for changing an editorial conclusion or omitting a material limitation.

Readers may report an error, missing context, accessibility barrier or concern about a source at Jalan Thamrin No. 88, Menteng, Jakarta Pusat, DKI Jakarta 10310, Indonesia, or +62 21 7891 035. We aim to acknowledge a report within 7 calendar days and assess a substantive correction within 30 calendar days. Confirmed corrections should be dated, proportionate and visible enough for a reader to understand what changed.

Published correspondence and contributor records are retained only as long as needed for editorial accountability, generally up to 24 months after an assignment closes, while the source history for a published article may be kept for the life of that article. Hosting, email and measurement providers may process limited operational data outside Indonesia under documented safeguards.

Revision record: this policy was reviewed on 12 October 2026. Material changes will be dated and explained, and the editorial desk may preserve earlier versions internally when that is necessary to document a correction or decision.

Editors record the source, publication date, author and relevant context for material factual statements. When evidence is incomplete or disputed, the article should make that limitation clear. A source is not treated as reliable merely because it is popular, and a single source may be checked against independent material where the topic warrants it.

Contributors disclose relevant professional, financial or personal interests before an assignment is accepted. A disclosed interest may lead to an editor's note, an independent review or a different assignment. Helian does not accept payment in exchange for changing a conclusion, hiding a material limitation or presenting promotional copy as independent journalism.

AI disclosure: Helian may use generative AI tools for limited drafting assistance, transcription support, language review or idea organization. Human editors verify, revise and approve every published item; automated output is not treated as a source, expert opinion or substitute for reporting. We do not place confidential reader information into prompts, and readers may report wording that appears inaccurate or unsupported.
